Sunday, September 14, 2025 - In person, Herbs for Stress and Anxiety: An Exploration of Botanical Treatments—In this day-long workshop, Herbalist and LMT Erin Vanhee teaches the herbal allies that provide calm and lessen stress & anxiety in the face of change and the complexity of modern living.
Many plant-based remedies provide a plethora of nutrients and medicine to restore and strengthen our nervous systems. Learn all-natural remedies to reduce the symptoms of stress and anxiety, and provide relief and clarification on how stress and anxiety are affecting you physically, emotionally and even spiritually. This class will leave you with easy-to-integrate tools to calm fear, panic attacks, racing heart, insomnia, depression and the “limbo” feeling.
No previous experience with plants necessary; this class is appropriate for beginner to advanced herbal students.

Q: What does the course cover?
A: Course outline includes but is not limited to:
Students will gain an understanding of the basic physiology of the nervous system as well as how to work with Nervine herbs for acute situations of stress, anxiety, trauma and sleep struggles.
We will explore how herbal adaptogens can provide long term support to help recondition the nervous system following prolonged periods of living with stress and anxiety.
We’ll touch, smell and experience herbal remedies that re-set your awareness of the parasympathetic (rest and digest) state of being.
Learn to combine herbs with simple, daily practices of self care and body awareness.
Q: What do I need to bring?
A: Packing a lunch, water bottle, and a notebook with writing utensil are recommended. All supplies are provided for you.

About Your Instructor:
Erin Vanhee, Herbalist, LMT, and Founder of Trillium Herbal Medicine has been an advanced practitioner of herbal medicine in the Wise Woman tradition for almost 30 years. She grew up in the Upper Skagit area of the Pacific Northwest, and grew up foraging and connecting with the plants of the region with her grandmother. Her connection with healing plants began when she was adopted into the Tlingit tribe in southeast Alaska in her early 20’s and has continued to deepen with each layer of herbalism training.
Erin was the first certified Organic grower of herbs in Washington State. As a medicinal plant specialist, Erin has taught groups of apprentices since 1993, and has been a speaker and teacher at Bastyr University, Pacific Women’s Herbal Conference, Three Rivers Herbal Gathering, the Northwest Herb Fair, AHG WA Chapter Green Gathering, and Planthealer’s Good Medicine Confluence. She teaches groups of students plant medicine in Skagit Valley, Washington.
