As someone who cares for a companion animal- You have undoubtedly been in a situation where you wondered how best to care for your pets cuts, scrapes, itchy skin, hot spots, UTI or arthritis. Yes, pets can be helped with herbs, too!
Veterinary care with herbs is no secret or difficult- once you know the how’s, when’s and why’s. This class will help you gain the confidence needed to care for your 4 legged friends through lecture, medicine making and tips for applications. This class is designed around cats, dogs, rabbits and chickens but will have some basic first aid approaches that apply to horses, goats, cows and pigs.
Topics of discussion include:
Skin conditions from internal and external origins
Behavior issues/anxiety
Holistic approaches to parasites
Kidney/bladder support for dogs and cats
First aid care for cuts, abrasions, hot spots, everyday bumps for an active pet
Care for Senior Animals
Digestion issue prevention and care
Dental support
When to call the vet and when home care is adequate
Time for Q and A of your pets concerns
Hands on projects include:
Making a herbal poultice for external application
Make and take a skin soothing salve
Preparing water based infusions for nutritional support
Tuition includes all herbal training, plants used in class and make and take topical skin remedy.
